The problem

Upcoming events arrive in different places: a school flyer, an appointment card, an email, or a message. Someone has to capture the details, remember the deadline, and make sure the right people know what is coming up.

ParentSync brings that everyday administrative task into one focused workflow: capture the information, turn it into a useful reminder, and keep it visible to the household.

The product

ParentSync uses AI to transcribe and extract event details from captured information. Reminders are displayed in the app, with household support across app installations and calendar integrations to connect them with existing schedules.

Image uploads and pasted text are the supported capture paths. Household invitations and membership controls support shared use, while Google Calendar and device-calendar integrations connect the app with calendars people already use.

Requirements and implementation focus

The focus is reducing repeated administrative work while preserving the details that make a reminder useful. A school flyer may have an event time and a separate RSVP deadline. An appointment may include an instruction to arrive early. A message may use a relative date such as “next Tuesday.”

The implementation includes handling for time zones, daylight-saving transitions, and dates without a stated time. These details matter because a reminder can look correct while arriving at the wrong moment.

The project combines a Flutter mobile interface with a Python/FastAPI backend to connect capture, AI processing, in-app organization, household access, and calendar integration.

Current stage

ParentSync remains in development, focused on refining this event-capture and reminder workflow.
